Évora (UNESCO) – The Silver Water Aqueduct – The Megalithic Monuments – Valongo Castle – Serra D’ossa – São Pedro do Corval – Monsaraz – Return trip

The itinerary of our Alentejo trekking experience can be partially adapted to your own tastes and physical condition. It is virtually accessible to every trekker but it can become more challenging too. It is available in both guided and self guided trekking tours.

Day 1: Arrival to Évora

  • Transfer to the accommodation farm and trekking briefing

Day 2: Alentejo Walking route “The Silver Water Aqueduct”

  • Trekking along side the 16th century Silver Water Aqueduct towards the city of Evora
  • Walk through small farms and smell the lovely aromatic herbs
  • End the day in Evora historical centre, having a drink in the calm beautiful main square

Day 3: Alentejo Walking route “The Megalithic Monuments”

  • Trekking through beautiful Alentejo fields around Evora
  • Visit the prehistoric sites of Almendres Cromlech, Almendres Menhir, Zambujeiro Dolmen and also Mitra Church

Day 4: Alentejo Walking route “Valongo Castle”

  • Trekking along the river Degebe
  • Leave the river bank to start walking up to Valongo Castle, in the middle of farming fields
  • Transfer to Serra d’Ossa by car

Day 5: Alentejo Walking route “Serra d’Ossa”

  • Trekking Serra d’Ossa, a beautiful sierra with plenty of animals and plants for you to discover

Day 6: Alentejo Walking route “Clay and Olive”

  • Transfer to São Pedro do Corval by car
  • Start at this charming small village, renowned for its pottery, and walk in olive fields finding gems like the Lovers’ Stone and the Church of Our Lady of Rosário

Day 7: Alentejo Walking route “The Medieval Village of Monsaraz”

  • Trekking up the hill until you conquer the fortified village of Monsaraz, always visible along the way
  • Take the memory of the amazing views over Alqueva Lake home with you together with plenty of photos
